Okay, everybody who hated the movie, let me stop you right there. This post is for people who could relate to the movie, so if you ain't one of them you better click that cross sign on the tab soon.
This is not one of those movies that need you to leave your brains at home so you can laugh your heads (yes, heads not hearts!) out at the stupidest jokes to make you feel better about spending so much money over a shitty movie. And then these movies turn out to be blockbusters.
Tamasha..is art. The kind of art you can feel in your veins as soon as you see it. Its not one of those pretentious exhibitions where you stare at 'art' and make analyses about it to sound smart even when it's just a red dot on a white canvas. It's the kind of art that makes you feel alive, that makes you aware of your beating heart. Let me put it this way. Imagine the girl you like. Now imagine her all decked up with a pretty dress on and a whole lot of makeup, ready to let her hair down on the weekend. Oh you like where this is going? Now imagine her sitting near the window, brows furrowed over a crossword puzzle, sunlight gleaming through her messy hair. Okay maybe you still like the first picture better but you get what I'm saying right? Arghh. Never mind.
Let me try again. Tamasha is your childhood. It's that movie that reminds you to embrace your crazy self with pride. It's something that takes up a lot of space in your heart but also makes it bigger. Do I make sense? It's not a love story, but it shows love in the best light. Now I know most of us don't believe in this love waala bullshit right? But this movie..it'll strike a chord. It doesn't romanticise love, no. It shows love exactly as it is - the one thing that will give you purpose and direction. The movie says all stories are the same. Yes, they are - boy meets girl, they fall in love, they grow apart anyway and their story becomes a legend. They miss one crucial part. It's not about the ending, it never is.
It's always about the journey. The journey where both the guy and the girl find themselves. They might know each other for an hour, a week or years. But they see through each other, and become each other's mirrors. They show each other their true selves, they give each other purpose. It doesn't really matter if they end up together. Hardly matters if they even know each other for a long time. All it takes, is one person to see through you and call your BS and tell you to wrap your head around the fact that you're kidding yourself with this shit, this is not what you're meant to do.
So basically what I'm saying is, everybody who didn't like the movie - 'Tumko samajh hi nai aayi!"
